Zoë A. Johnson King

I work in Ethics, Metaethics, Epistemology, Decision Theory, Philosophy of Action, and Philosophy of Law.

From September 2018 to August 2020, I will be a Bersoff Fellow at NYU.

From August 2020 onwards, I will be an Assistant Professor at USC.

I got my PhD in Philosophy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from September 2013 to August 2018. My dissertation is on moral motivation. Here it is.

Before Michigan, I did the Teach First programme, earning a PGCE (the UK's main teaching degree) and teaching full-time in a secondary school in Croydon.

Before that, I completed a BA and M.Phil in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. I was at Fitzwilliam College.

Here's my CV.

Some people have asked to see my job market materials, so I’ve decided to just make them publicly available right here on my website. Here’s my Diversity Statement, my full Teaching Portfolio, my Research Statement, my Writing Sample, and the CV that I used last year for the market. (Note that this is not my current CV — there’s a link to my current CV above.)

Some people have expressed confusion about what my last name is. My last name is 'Johnson King'. I hope that clears it up.
